Main interface.

McTidy is a desktop organizer which can store and restore the positions and sizes of windows.

I have created it to speed up the process of setting up mine and my coworkers trading desktops.

It is tested and working on Windows 7 and 10 for single or multi-screen environments.

It will take a snapshot of your windows and restore them to their saved position and size. After you execute it for the first time and open it you will be given the option to take a snapshot.

To restore a saved snapshot you may either select it (from a latest and 3 older snapshots), right click on the systray icon and select “run once” or by hitting Ctrl+S (can be changed in the options).

You may also add exclusions, make autosize/autoposition your windows continuously and it also supports command line arguments .

Available command line arguments:

  • ‘-se’, McTidy will start tidying windows on program execution. Optionally add a number of seconds at which McTidy will stop auto-arranging them (by default will stop in 10″).
  • ‘-q’, McTidy will auto-quit after 10″ (if combined with -se argument it will use the seconds defined in it).
  • ‘-si’, McTidy will start hidden (Even from systray).

The binary is available for download on Github (download page).
